State of Hawaii



The location and flag



Hawaii  is the newest of the 50 U.S. states, and is the only U.S. state made up entirely of islands.It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean, southwest of the continental United States, southeast of Japan, and northeast of Australia.

The flag of the state of Hawaiʻi  is the official standard symbolizing Hawaiʻi as a U.S. state. . It is the only state flag of the United States to have been flown under so many various forms of government and the only state flag to feature the Union Flag of the United Kingdom, a holdover of the period in Hawaiian   history when it was a British protectorate.
